Oh my! Kirsty Kirkpatrick I like your style, amazing handmade, recycled body adornments. From chunky necklaces and bracelets to art deco earrings and Aztec cuff links Uncommonly Beautiful Recycled Accessories is a real gem.
I'm a particularly fond of the recycled wooden necklaces oh what I would give! for now I'll just admire their higgledy piggledy chain linked 80's disco tech eccentricity from afar *sigh*...

Tate avec PaPa bear...
I'd been wanting to see Gerhard Richter at the Tate Modern for weeks and have been meaning to write about it for days. Truly living up to the last minute expectations I went zipping up to Landan in all mother natures gusty glory a day before the exhibition finished. The bridge was wobbly, the queues long and whilst in Rome I popped a glance at Tacita Deans most recent contribution to the Turbine Hall.
With pursed lips and raised eyebrows I must say, it was kinda good. I am not a fan of video/film/moving image, whatever the label, but Tacita, I like what you did with the place. An almost floor to ceiling screen stood clean and glowing into the darkness of the Turbine, casting dreamy reflections that spilled across the concrete floor. Snappy bold shapes popped across spliced slides jammed in seemingly random collages. The imagery appeared as an obscure slide show which morphed and trickled into the next arrangement of natury, poparty Mondrianesque lined frame.

On with the show! Richter my darling you were like a night with a prostitute. Hot, bustly and expensive but ultimately pleasurable. Initially curated well but seemingly losing momentum towards the end where a splodge of Cave paintings dwelled and the whole place far too busy. I don't like to crane my neck to look at a description or stand on tiptoes to view a work from a meter away. I am not a giraffe. Despite my 6ft height.
Enough! Richter I love your work. You paint exceptionally and the length and breadth of productivity is broad and brave. Your gusto to make beautiful portraiture alongside cold framed sculpture and colourblocking is truly commendable and I applaud the commitment to each new venture.
This exhibition also gave me the chance to spiele of some arty bollocks talk to my dad hoping he would think at least uni taught me something. It was great to see and great to say I've seen. A one standing ovation for Mr Richter.

Flimingo flamango...
December bought along my birthday and Christmas so presents ahoy! I love the wrap Mama used all the ribbons and fabric where a treat in themselves.
Max Hernn wrapping paper.
Three of my favorite presents. Yup that's right. That's a boars hoof goblet and what?
Boom. Lee Broom...
In all its neon licked shabby glowing glory.
Lee Broom you are far too young, good looking and succesful.
But this is good.
Huppy New Yaaar!...
New Year sucks. But I think gadging by how much time it took me to recover, it was a good one. Which is probably why I'm writing about said evening almost a week late...
Lets crack on with all this resolution shennaningins that will be kept up for a couple of months, 3-4 tops.
Numero uno!
Find a job that...
A) Pays me more than the bare minimum. (which is currently just keeping me topped up with cigarettes and alcohol so I can bear to put up with the job that pays me the bare minimum)
AND
B) Not quite so soul destroying I want to gauge my eyes out with a blunt object and physically bludgeon with my own gouged out skull my fellow co "workers".
Two!
Save moneys.
This is not going well. I have already found a new jewelery designer who I want to be buying all her wares (Kirsty Kirkpatrick ) Booked gigs, festivals and maybe a holiday... Sorry Ma and Pa I think I'll be kipping in the loft a bit longer.
Tree!
Get a studio/room/shed. I need to make something. With stuff. Then do something with it. Or not.
!BONUS Resolution!...
Meet architect, builder and welder. I want this in my garden. Including the skyline.

Bedroom Bargain Buys...
I'm certain you don't have to spend a lot to spruce up a space. So here's my proffesional advice on aquiring things that won't cost arms and legs.
1!(HaHaHaa!) Get to know your local charity shops, markets and auctions and ALWAYS haggle (at the market not a charity shop. No defiantly not) Throwing in a smile, cheeky wink (unless your a guy and the bloke your buying off is 18 stone hairy dealer selling you a microwave out the back of his ford transit. I'm just saying, it might not go down too well...) and a freindyly comment and you'll be well on your way.
2! (HaHaHaa!) Get stuck into a bit of mending by glueing, stripping, painting etc (within reason of your own capabilities). You can spruce up many objects with some basic DIY.
3! (HaHaHaa) Be persistent. It's not every time you'll find winner and get out early, you know, catching the worm and all that.
This is my bedroom which is pretty much bursting at the seams with a colossal amount of cheap treasures.
Lots and lots of colour and clashing patterns yeah! My absolute favorite round yellow chair £5 from el markaterio acts as bedside table with a few stacked books and french vintage anglepoise from Kingston Antiques the epitome of a tardis shop.
The Aztec style rug is a another market purchase (you'll see a trend in a minute) purchased from a santa claus-esque chap called Cinnamon who lives on a barge. Cushions about £20 for the pair, I splashed out a wee bit for those, Paris Accent (from my home town) may it rest in peace for it is no more, was an eclectic vintage/charity shop with the odd diamond in the rough (also being the establishment where I bought my goats hoof cheese board...)
Bed spead Primani
Green throw £5 courtesy of Whistable and a man who took pity of my skintness ;)
Patchwork, from the hands that bore me.
So enjoy, have fun and always keep an eye out.

My lovely lacy jellyfishy lamp. Casts beautiful shadows on the walls.
50p
No Joke.
Cheers Ted the bicycle man.

To me, to you, to me, to you...
Prints of animal wallpaper are flip flapping marvelous. So grab your overalls, a bucket of paste and a brush and let the slap stick hillarities of wallpapering ensue, keep on scrolling for the saucy surprise.
Make Paul and Barry proud!
"Mounted Buck" wallpaper by Filthy Home
Victorian lady and insects = winning combination. Voos
Lets go classic with the gentry hunting party and Scalamandre's iconic Zebra print.
This is a coo coo cool (sorry) design by Aimee Wilder who I also featured on my post this week for STYLE NV (ghastly plug, sorry) The pigeons of Trafalgar would be proud.
You may want to take your head out of the sand for this mighty fine wallpaper of orange and leaf gold. Just don't get in a flap putting it up for its a face burying £55.00 a roll... Beware the Moon
She may not be an animal but her neon nakedness is beastly! This"Burlesque" Print from Rockett St George is sensational.
Make Paul and Barry proud!
My Work...
From using ceramic, painting and textiles I made this for my last year of Fine art. It's very different from my usuall practise but I'd had one of those itches to experiment with many of the old objects I feel constantly drawn too.
Initially my colourblocking stripes and square painting where intended to be invasive and contrasting with thier host objects, garish and obssesive. They evolved to become much more sympathetic to each items individual make up of shape and colour tone.

Eayargo have a looksy at this...
What what? who who? Mr Mcarthur! In the words of Churchill the nodding dog "Oooohhh yes."
Koo Koo Viyaaa...
Tweet twoo peek a boo the owls have come out to play. Let their big eyes and and freakishly flexible necks look out lovingly from pillows to posters. At least these ones wont crap out the bones of dead animal carcasses all over your floor.
